Climate
Explanatory Text (English)
Within the context of this conceptual project, "Climate" is used to define the established, enduring, and overarching affective condition of a large social system, institution, or environment—what can be termed the "Social Climate." Unlike the transient Vibe or Mood, the Social Climate is a stabilized set of expectations and affective norms that persist over time (e.g., the climate of a school, a nation, or a corporate culture). It serves as the backdrop against which specific, temporary moods or atmospheres emerge. Changes to the social climate are often slow and structural, reflecting long-term political, economic, or cultural dynamics. The climate thus represents the broadest scale of affective inquiry, acting as the socio-political container for the more ephemeral atmospheric experiences.
